Born in Augsburg/Germany. After having finished vocational training as a car mechanic in Germany and the USA, graduated Medical school and studied socioeconomics in tandem (student of Lord R. Dahrendorf). Multiple international Visiting Professorships. MA, MD, Dr med habil, Dr rer. soc.

Board certified Specializations in Psychiatry and Psychosomatics, including over 12 subspezializations (pain management, addiction, psychotherapy etc.). Special clinical interests in Psychotraumatology, chronic pain Syndromes, addictive and affective disorders. Integral approach, including complementary and conventional medicine. Further expertise in Mind-Body Medicine, Naturopathy and Public health issues. Over 300 publications and presentations. Member of the European Academy of Science and Arts (EASA), the Austrian Chapter of the Club of Rome (CoR).

Former Visiting Fellow at the C. G. Jung Institute/Zurich/CH; Several academic appointments, including PPKE (HU), MAYO (USA), Beijing (CN); Clinical consultant at the WHO collaboration center for TCM, Beijing/China; Currently Med. Director and CMO at the hospital for integral psychiatry in Saxonia (GER) and vice-chairman of the European Institut of Medicine (EiM).
These memberships afford the opportunity to combine theory and practice and to be involved in a more interdisciplinary approach to scholarship, science and politics. As a practicing Buddhist and Catholic, my professional activities are embedded into the mystical traditions of the perennial Eastern and Western philosophies.
